Step-by-Step Process for Using Cement Box Culvert Mold
Preparation of Materials
Begin by mixing the concrete to the specified design ratio—typically a blend of cement, fine aggregate (sand), coarse aggregate (gravel), and water. A common mix ratio is 1:2:3 (cement:sand:gravel) for high-strength applications. Add water gradually to achieve a workable consistency without excess moisture.
Apply Mold Release Agent
Thoroughly clean the interior surfaces of the mould before application. Spray or brush a thin, even layer of mould release agent (such as silicone-based or vegetable oil derivatives) to prevent concrete from bonding to the mould. This ensures clean demoulding and extends the life of the mould.
Pouring the Concrete

Carefully loosen clamps or bolts and gently separate the mould panels. Avoid prying or impact that could chip edges or damage the concrete. Handle with lifting equipment if necessary.
Post-Demolding Curing
Continue curing the exposed concrete after demoulding to prevent shrinkage cracks and ensure uniform strength gain. Reapply moisture via misting, wet coverings, or curing membranes. This phase is crucial for achieving the target compressive strength and durability, particularly in load-bearing culverts exposed to environmental stress.
